It’s been a fine season for Woodley United Ladies, they’ve won the Southern Region Women’s League Division 1 North and managers Marc Surtees and Nuno Antunes are both nominated for an EPC Bracknell Football Award.
Now striker Rosie Page-Smith joins them on the nominations list in the Player of the Season category following an excellent 2017/18 for the Kestrels.
Page-Smith played all 10 games of the clubs title winning campaign scoring 10 goals making her the division’s joint top scorer, with 22 appearances and 23 goals in all competitions. All of this builds on a 16/17 campaign where she scored 17 goals in 23 games.
A sample of the nominations for Rosie read: She scored against the likes of Maidenhead Ladies and AFC Wimbledon Ladies who play two division higher then Woodley United Ladies. In the game that mattered the most; our last league game against Wargave. Rosie rose to the challenge and netted a hat trick in our 6-0 victory to secure the title.
‘Always a consistent player who never stops giving’
Another reads: Rosie is always a consistent player who never stops giving. This is truly shown by not only being top goalscorer for Woodley United Ladies but also for the league. You know when she has the ball at her feet 9 times out of 10 she is going to score. Well done Rose.
And another: She scored numerous spectacular goals this season. Each helped Woodley to achieve being crowned champions. She became stronger as an individual throughout the season and became a valuable player to Woodley.
