It’s been quite a chaotic season to follow Reading Women. 3-3 draws, late equalisers and crazy sendings-off.

Royals have just played four home games at Madejski Stadium, including a Women’s Football Weekend fixture against Bristol City and are now back at Adams Park in Wycombe.

Football in Berkshire’s RFCW season ticket holder Steve Gabb offers some reasons to be positive about the remainder of the FA WSL1 season for Reading FC Women.

The return of Jo Potter

On the seventy-third minute against Brighton Jo Potter replaced Sophie Howard to feature on the field for the first time since September.

The 35 cap Lioness was getting her first taste of action since fracturing an eye socket during the FA Cup semi-final against West Ham United in April.

The emergence of youth

Kiera Skeels (pictured top) has looked very comfortable before her injury against Crystal Palace in the Continental Cup. Academy players Niamh Reynolds and Sophie Quirk were on the bench as the conveyor belt of talent continues.

Tash Harding back running

Welsh international Tash Harding has been working hard to get back to full fitness and posted on her twitter account that she’s finally back running. The Royals captains pace offers Reading another dimension to their game and would be a welcome returnee.

Fara Williams corners

Of Reading’s last five league goals, four have come from Fara Williams corners. That can’t be a coincidence! None of them have been particularly spectacular, but if the ball hits the net they all count.

The England Lionesses record cap holder is still imposing herself on games and shows no signs of slowing down at the age of 35.
