A weekly highlight of the big Berkshire women’s games you’ll want to keep an eye out each week for according to our women’s football correspondent Abi Ticehurst.

This weeks trio all come from the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League.

1. Penn & Tylers Green Ladies vs Slough Town Ladies FC

Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League Division 3E

It’s undefeated versus the undefeated in this battle. Our Berkshire side Slough, sit second in the table having played four and won four with two 10-1 victories on the trot and a goal total of 30 already. Abi Canvin with 11 goals to her name, puts her just six short of Shannon Daly’s total in the 2019/20 season. Meanwhile, Penn & Tyler sit top of the table having secured the maximum 15 points and if that wasn’t enough, our resident futsal expert Alicia Povey is also due to feature in the line up having already bagged 4 goals for the team.

2. Mortimer Ladies vs Wallingford Town AFC Ladies

Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League Division 3S

Wallingford had a chance to recoup over the weekend, with no fixture scheduled on Sunday, after their 4-1 loss to fourth place S4K Ladies. Whilst Mortimer sit strong in third with a game in hand, they will look to bounce back after a shock 1-1 draw to Newbury Ladies Development in game week 4. The team also spent the weekend resting after their game against Wargrave was postponed due to Covid precautions amongst the Wargrave squad. Fresh legs and points to prove for both teams.

2. Shinfield Rangers Women vs Thatcham Town Ladies

Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League Development Division

A second feature for Shinfield after their 5-2 loss to second place Wraysbury last Sunday. They currently sit sixth in the table so will be keen to take the three points against fellow Berkshire side Thatcham who are a place below having played one more game than the Rangers. Thatcham top-goal scorer of the 2019/20 season, Katerina Vadlejchova will no doubt be wanting to add to her tally. Whilst Shinfield’s Vicky Armstrong will be looking for much the same result.
