Former Slough Town striker Manny Williams has returned to the Vanarama National League South club after departing from Burnham.

Williams had been appointed manager at Combined Counties League Burnham following the departure of Ash James earlier in the season but left the club last week after nine games in charge.

Following his departure, Williams was snapped up by his former side with Rebels co-boss Jon Underwood saying: “I’m a firm believer in surrounding yourself with good people if you want to be successful and we’re delighted to have this Rebels legend back on board.”

The once capped Sierra Leone international played 111 times for Slough as well as turning out for the likes of Maidenhead United, Basingstoke Town and Woking and this season had five goals in 15 appearances to his name for Burnham.

40-year-old Williams will rejoin the Rebels as Assistant Manager, with Underwood writing on the official website: “On the coaching side Manny will support us and player-coach Lee Togwell by focusing primarily on our attacking players, and he will also sign a National League form.”
